Blair Lyons, Scientific Animator and Interactive Developer

Blair Lyons has a strong background in cell biology and biochemistry. She holds a B.S. in Biochemistry with Honors from Virginia Tech, where she worked in biochemistry research labs for more than 3 years and was awarded the department’s outstanding undergraduate research award. She also studied Computer Science and Fine Art. She earned her M.S. in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Blair loves using animation and interactives to teach and inspire about the amazing microscopic world.


Stroma Studios was founded by Blair Lyons in Seattle, WA. ‘Stroma’ refers to the matrix of the cell made up of the protein fibers that hold everything together. In its short life, Stroma has recieved numerous awards for 3D animation and iPad development.
